Roulette rules and basic odds

Roulette is a casino gambling game. It was first introduced in France in the 18th century and it is called after the french diminutive for “wheel”.
Quickly the game expanded it’s territories to Europe and to the U.S. In 1843, in the German spa casino town of Homburg, a single zero roulette style was introduced in order to compete with the other casinos that offered the traditional wheel with single and double zero house pockets. The roulette continued to gain popularity all across the world, becoming one of the leading gambling games.

After gambling was abolished in Germany, the Blanca family moved to Monte-Carlo, the last legal operation of gambling in Europe in purpose of opening an elite casino for the high society. In this new gambling capital of Europe, the single zero style roulette became the premier style of play and over the years expanded across the globe. It was in Monte-Carlo that the game got his nickname as “the king of the casino”.

In the U.S.A. the french style roulette made his way from New Orleans along the Mississippi and west. In the west the game developed into a fast-cash action game with simplified betting.

Nowadays, the double zero wheel is found in north and South America, where as the single zero wheel is the dominant game elsewhere. Roulette is popular anywhere, also in online casinos and has simple tactics which people use in order to make money.
